The military diet, also called the 3-day diet, is a fast weight loss diet based on a set low-calorie meal plan. That’s not to say the Military Diet is a walk in the park, far from it. You need to want to lose weight, and the fact that you can get results very fast helps people stick to it. The diet doesn’t need to be a long term commitment, but rather, a means to lose weight quickly and effectively, making it particularly popular with people whose weight fluctuates regularly, or for binge eaters who want to address recent weight gains.
Also I have started this diet and though I haven’t been as strict as I should be…eating a little more than recommended and swapping out broccoli for cucumbers I have still lost 4 lbs and I am on my last day so we will see what today brings and my 3 day military diet in tomorrow will show whether swapping out and eating a little more ruined my weight loss final number or not!!
It’s a simple diet plan to follow, and the fact that you have three days in which you need to do so makes it very manageable – if you don’t want to sacrifice three days of eating junk for the potential to lose up to ten pounds, then you really don’t want to lose the weight enough!
However, fans of the diet claim that by eating full-fat foods (they advise not to switch to low-fat frozen yogurt, but to stick with the real deal), your body stays fuller for longer, and you won’t feel as deprived, since you’re getting to chow down on foods usually viewed as treats.
